- Locate the crown which is usually on the right side of the dial.
- Gently pull the crown away from the dial to its original position, being careful not to pull it too far.
- Begin winding the crown clockwise until resistance is felt, or 25-30 revolutions at a time.
- Push the crown back into its normal position.
- Pull the crown out again and turn the crown to set hands until the hands show the current time and date.

If you can't find your watch model (or movement) in this list, you can identify your Angular Momentum. Try winding mode. You should choose the combined winding method (CW+CCW) and minimum turns per day (TPD). Then put the watch into the watch winder and check the accuracy of the time displayed by the watch after a few days. If you run behind, you need to increase the TPD number by one level.

Angular Momentum watch time adjustment method

Winding a watch is a complex endeavor, but for many watch lovers, it is one of the joys of interacting with a watch.

Set time and date:

  • To set the watch, pull the crown all the way out to the time setting position
  • Move the hands forward until the date in the date window changes - it is now midnight. Continue to move the hands forward until the correct time is displayed.
(Note: If setting the watch in the afternoon, you must advance the hands at least 12 hours, otherwise, the date will change to noon instead of midnight.)

Set date:

  1. Please push the crown to the position
  2. Turn counterclockwise (or clockwise, depending on the model) until today's date is displayed in the date window.
It is not recommended to set the date after 9 pm or before 5 am as this may cause the date to not change correctly.
Finally, always remember to depress the crown and screw it firmly into the case after setting it.

Can I Manually Wind my Automatic Watch With the Crown?

It’s okay to do this once in a while, but not too often—especially if your watch has a screw-down crown.
Firstly, with crown winding, the gears and other parts of an automatic movement will wear out faster, as will the screw-in crown system, as it is not designed for frequent use. Self-winding watches should be worn for at least eight hours a day to make the most of their power reserves, so rather than letting your automatic watch's power reserve drain, invest in a simple automatic watch winder.
