About Anonimo

Anonimo is a relatively young watch brand. Having made a name for itself in the world of uncompromising professional diving, with its screw-down crown locking system and fully waterproof pushers, ANONIMO has created dive watches that are water resistant to over 1000 meters.

Anonimo timepieces embody robustness and functionality through their elegant and exclusive designs. Based on its origins and history, the brand has always exerted originality and precision in each piece, combining Italian elegance with Swiss craftsmanship.

Why should wind the watch?

Winding a watch is what powers the mainspring, which can be done manually or automatically. As the name suggests, manual watches need to be wound manually. If you don't wind it, eventually, your timepiece will stop working.

Anonimo Watch Manual Winding Steps

  1. Unlock the protection lever as described in the section «Setting the time».
  2. Pull the crown to the first click, then turn the crown clockwise 15-20 turns to fully wind the movement.
  3. After the watch is wound, the power reserve indicator pointer will lift up and reach the non-red area.
NOTE: When the watch has not been worn for more than 35 hours or has been injured, it is recommended to rewind the crown with a few clockwise turns to ensure adequate power reserve and accurate operation. Water resistance is not guaranteed in this position.
Automatic watches should not be overwound. Automatic watches, or self-winding watches, depending on the movement of your arm to operate. For manual winding, the process is simple and you will find that winding the Anonimo gives you a few minutes of peace every day!

    Anonimo watch winder settings

Most Anonimo watch automatic movements can be wound properly with most watch barrels. Under normal circumstances, Anonimo's self-winding movement needs to rotate 650-800 revolutions per day, and most of them can be wound clockwise.

If you cannot find your watch model (or movement) in this list, you can identify your Anonimo. Try winding mode. You should choose the combined winding method (CW+CCW) and minimum turns per day (TPD). Then put the watch into the watch winder and check the accuracy of the time displayed by the watch after a few days. If you are running behind, you will need to increase your TPD number by a notch.

    Anonimo Watch Time Adjustment Method

Winding a watch is a complex endeavor, but for many watch lovers, it is one of the joys of interacting with a watch.

    1. To unlock the protection lever: rotate the protection lever upwards and lower the disappearing crown mechanism. Overcome the click resistance of the buckle.
    2. With the lever unlocked, pull the crown all the way out to the second click.
    3. Turn the crown clockwise to set the time. Water resistance is not guaranteed in this position.
    4. After setting the time, return the crown firmly to its original position and lock the protection lever. To be fully locked, the protection bar must be lowered.

Can I Manually Wind my Automatic Watch wWith the Crown?

It’s okay to do this once in a while, but not too often—especially if your watch has a screw-down crown.
Firstly, with crown winding, the gears and other parts of an automatic movement will wear out faster, as will the screw-in crown system, as it is not designed for frequent use. Self-winding watches should be worn for at least eight hours a day to make the most of their power reserves, so rather than letting your automatic watch's power reserve drain, invest in a simple automatic watch winder.
